Spend seven days on the picturesque roads of Georgia in the legendary Land Rover Defender. Georgia is a country best experienced with your eyes, your ears and your taste buds, and your week in Georgia will be a treat for all the senses. From the moment you land in Tbilisi, you will see that Georgia is a country with a rich culture, gorgeous landscapes and a respect for the history of its people. The Georgians take hospitality to a whole new level, and you will feel like you are visiting old friends as you explore this beautiful country.
DAY 1
Moscow - Tbilisi
Arrival in Tbilisi and check in at our hotel in the city center. We explore the capital on a sightseeing tour. Enjoy dinner at a restaurant overlooking the old town.
DAY 2
Tbilisi - Kakheti, Lopota Lake
After breakfast, we set off for Kakheti, a famous winemaking region. We stop off to visit the Garedzhi caves and monastary, the Alaverdi Monastery and the main tourist center of Kakheti, which is Sighnaghi. We finish the day at Lopota Lake, where we feast on Georgian cuisine and spend the night in a lakeside hotel.
DAY 3
Lopota Lake - Kazbegi region
We enjoy breakfast and make our way through the Kazbegi region, which runs along the border of Georgia and Russia. Marvel at the snowy peaks of the Caucasus and the Trinity Monastery, which rests high in the mountains at 2,700 meters. Our day’s journey leads us to a relaxing alpine hotel with stunning panoramic views.
DAY 4
Kazbegi Region - Borjomi
We eat breakfast at the hotel, then take a trip to the Truso Valley. Amidst some of the most beautiful gorges in the country, we enjoy an outdoor lunch. Borjomi is famous for its mineral water, and we can try it directly from the source. We finish the day at the Bakuriani mountain resort, where we have dinner and spend the night.
DAY 5
A trip to the Vardzia cave monastery
After breakfast at the hotel, we visit one of Georgia’s most famous sites, the Vardzia cave monastery. Our route there winds along the picturesque Tabatskuri Lake. We eat dinner and spend the night in Bakuriani.
DAY 6
Bakuriani - Tbilisi
We have breakfast at the hotel and head to Uplistsikhe Cave Town (Georgian for “God’s Fortress”), located near the town of Gori. We eat lunch at a restaurant and continue on to Tbilisi. After checking in at the hotel, there is the option to visit Tbilisi’s famous sulfur baths.
DAY 7
Breakfast at the hotel. Flight to Moscow.
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by free time (depending on the time of departure). Transfer to the airport.
